The journey will take you to some of the most fascinating and enigmatic monuments ever constructed in Egypt's mystical and ancient land. Your adventure begins in the ancient city of Memphis, now modern-day Cairo. You’ll explore the 3rd Dynasty Saqqara Necropolis and the Giza Plateau, where you will have private access to the King’s Chamber of the Great Pyramid on Equinox day, standing in the presence of the mighty Sphinx as it gazes eternally toward the eastern horizon.

In Cairo, you’ll experience both fun and cultural immersion, from visiting renowned essential oil alchemist who use ancient Egyptian recipes, to wandering through vibrant spice markets, and indulging in a culinary journey that spans street food, home-cooked meals, and dining in exquisite restaurants.

After exploring Cairo, you will take a flight to Luxor, the ancient city of Thebes—one of the greatest cities of the ancient world, if not the greatest. Monumental temples with towering columns, the largest ever constructed by man, still stand tall and magnificent. To this day, we are left in awe and wonder at how and why these structures were built.

In Luxor, you'll enjoy a captivating walk between two of the largest temple complexes, following the Avenue of the Sphinxes, an ancient path once walked by priests and Pharaohs thousands of years ago. To complete your experience, you will savor a private, traditional Egyptian dinner at one of the finest restaurants in the city, offering a delightful culinary journey.

The next day, you will board the luxurious Dahabiya to begin your sail upstream along the Nile. Along the way, you'll visit many iconic temples, including but not limited to Karnak TempleLuxor TempleEsna (Khnum) TempleEdfu (Horus) TempleKom Ombo Temple, and Philae Temple. During these excursions, you'll be guided by some of Egypt’s most engaging and knowledgeable young Egyptologists and tour leaders.

As you sail, if you feel inspired, you can take a refreshing swim in the cool, blue waters of the Nile, observe local fishermen, marvel at the rich birdlife, or relax on the river’s sandy shores—so be sure to bring your swimsuit!

The boat will dock at Aswan, near ancient Elephantine Island, marking the beginning of Nubia. Here, you will notice a change in the landscape, the people, and the culture as you enter the historic "lands of gold." In Aswan, you'll visit the stunning Philae Temple and the sacred Princess Island.

Day 1

Wednesday, 19th - Cairo

  • Arrival in Cairo: Meet and assist upon arrival at Cairo International Airport.
  • Welcome & Opening Ceremony: Gather for a warm welcome and an opening ceremony to mark the beginning of your journey.

Day 2

Thursday, 20th - Cairo - Saqqara Necropolis

  • Morning Gathering & Orientation: Start the day by meeting the team and preparing for the journey ahead.
  • Journey to Saqqara Pyramid Complex: Travel 30 km south of Cairo to explore Saqqara, home to the oldest complete stone structure, the Pyramid of Djoser. Visit key sites including the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the Pyramid of Unas, and the Serapeum.
  • Lunch: Enjoy lunch during the tour.
  • Authentic Culinary Experience: Savor a traditional home-cooked meal downtown.
  • Blue Lotus & Sound Healing Ceremony: End the day with a rejuvenating Blue Lotus and Sound Healing Ceremony.

Day 3

Friday, 21st - Spring Equinox
Cairo - Giza Plateau - Fly to Luxor

  • Wake-up call & coffee.
  • Visit the Giza Plateau for private access to the King’s Chamber with a Sound Healing Ceremony and Dr. Aimon’s Meditative Breathwork session.
  • Walk to the Sphinx enclosure.
  • Breakfast at 9-Lounge Pyramid Restaurant.
  • Return to hotel for check-out and transfer to Cairo Airport for flight to Luxor.
  • Evening: Arrive in Luxor, check in, and enjoy an early dinner at a local restaurant with traditional cuisine.

Saturday, 22nd - Luxor - Luxurious Dahabiya Boat

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Morning Excursion: Meet in the lobby for a full-day exploration of ancient Thebes. Begin on the West Bank with a visit to the impressive Ramesseum Temple of Habu, an exceptionally well-preserved mortuary temple of Ramses III, nestled near the foot of the Theban Hills.
  • Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, a masterpiece of ancient Egyptian architecture, featuring three grand terraces carved into the cliffs. This temple is connected by long causeways to the valley temple below.
  • Lunch: Enjoy a meal at a local restaurant.
  • Afternoon Excursion: Head to the East Bank to explore the grand Karnak Temple Complex, the largest of its kind, built over 1500 years and dedicated to the god Amun. Conclude with a visit to the majestic Luxor Temple.
  • Cruise Departure: Embark on the luxurious Dahabiya boat and begin your cruise upstream along the Nile, stopping at various temples along the way.
  • Leisure Time: Relax on deck or in your cabin. The Dahabiya offers a full-board dining experience, with meals served in the restaurant, often buffet-style.
  • Dinner and overnight onboard.

day 5

Sunday, 23rd - Esna Temple & Sail Upstream

  • Morning at Leisure: Wake up at your own pace aboard the luxury cruise. Enjoy breakfast and coffee on deck while taking in the breathtaking scenery along the River Nile.
  • Afternoon Arrival at Esna: Arrive at Esna early afternoon to visit the Temple of Khnum, also known as Esna Temple. Though small in size, this temple is renowned for its vibrant colors and well-preserved walls, with inscriptions from Ptolemaic and Roman emperors. Originally laid out by Tuthmosis III of the 18th Dynasty, the temple is dedicated to Khnum, the ram-headed god, and Sekhmet, the Nubian lion-headed goddess.
  • Sailing Upstream: Continue sailing upstream, harnessing the wind as the ancient Egyptians once did thousands of years ago.
  • Evening: Experience a Shamanic Bonfire Ceremony with Loukia Papa, creating a profound connection with the ancient energy of the Nile.

day 6

Monday, 24th - Edfu & Sail Upstream

  • Morning at Leisure: Wake up at your own pace and enjoy breakfast onboard. For those who wish, take a refreshing morning swim in the cool waters of the Nile.
  • Visit to Edfu Temple: The cruise will stop in Edfu, where you’ll visit the Temple of Edfu, one of the most well-preserved temples in Egypt. Located on the West Bank of the Nile, this Ptolemaic temple (built between 237 and 57 BC) is dedicated to the falcon god Horus. Its walls contain significant inscriptions about ancient language, myths, and the sacred conflict between Horus and Set, along with details about the temple’s construction and its mythical connection to the Island of Creation.
  • Lunch Onboard: Return to the Dahabiya for lunch.
  • Manifestation Session: Participate in a Manifestation Session with Loukia Papa.
  • Dinner and Overnight: Enjoy dinner and spend the night onboard the Dahabiya.

Tuesday, 25th - Selsela Quarry and Temple

  • Selsela Temple: The Dahabiya will sail upstream to the iconic Selsela Temple and quarry, accessible only by small boats. The next destination is the lesser-known archaeological site of Gebel-al-Silsila, where the Nile narrows, and the bedrock transitions from limestone to Nubian sandstone. Ancient Egyptians referred to this area as “Khenu,” or the “Place of Rowing.”

  • Historical Significance: The sandstone quarries of Gebel al-Silsila were used from the Middle Kingdom (c. 2034–1650 BC) up until the 20th century. These quarries supplied sandstone blocks for many of Egypt’s ancient temples. Beyond its role as a quarry, Selsela was also a sacred site for ceremonies and rituals. Priests and worshippers performed offerings and religious ceremonies here, venerating gods such as Amun, Sobek, and Hapi. Shrines and monuments, including the grand rock-cut Temple of Hormoheb, were carved directly into the cliffs, creating a majestic and spiritual landscape.

Tuesday, 25th - Selsela Quarry and Temple

  • Selsela Temple: The Dahabiya will sail upstream to the iconic Selsela Temple and quarry, accessible only by small boats.   • Early Morning: Wake up early and enjoy breakfast and coffee on deck while taking in the breathtaking scenery along the Nile.
  • Checkout & Transfer: After breakfast, checkout from the Dahabiya and travel to Aswan by bus, followed by a boat ride to a nearby island.
  • Hotel Check-in & Rest: Arrive at the hotel, check in, and take some time to rest.
  • Dinner: Meet in the lobby for an early dinner featuring delicious, slow-cooked traditional food on an island with stunning views of the majestic Philae Temple.
  • Night Boat Ride & Shopping (Optional): After dinner, enjoy a night boat ride with the option to shop for Andara Crystals onboard.
  • Return to Hotel: Conclude the evening by returning to the hotel for a restful night.

day 10

Friday, 28th - Cairo

  • Sunrise Meditation (Optional).
  • Breakfast on a private boat while cruising around Philae Island and the sacred Beja Island.
  • Philae Temple Visit: Head to the Philae Temple, one of the most spectacular and complete temples in Upper Egypt. Revered as one of the burial sites of Osiris, it was considered sacred by both Egyptians and Nubians. In ancient times, only priests were allowed to reside there, and it was said that neither birds flew over it nor fish approached its shores. During the Ptolemaic period, Philae became a key pilgrimage site, while the Roman era saw a decline in pilgrim numbers. Nonetheless, it remained a significant spiritual destination, particularly for the Nubians.
  • Return to the hotel for checkout, then transfer to Aswan International Airport for your flight to Cairo.
  • Arrive in Cairo, check in at the hotel, and join for a collective dinner and closing party to celebrate the journey.

day 11

Saturday, 29th - Departure Day

  • Wake up at leisure and enjoy a relaxed morning.
  • Final Closing Ceremony: After breakfast, meet in the lobby for a final closing ceremony in one of the conference rooms, offering reflection and gratitude for the journey.
  • Drop-off at Cairo International Airport: Transfers will be arranged for your departure.

Mahmoud Marai, PhD

Mahmoud Marai has been exploring and traveling the deserts since 1998. He has led numerous expeditions in the Western Desert of Egypt, in the Great Sahara Desert, and the Empty Quarter of Arabia.
With a total desert driving distance of 300,000km, including the illusive ancient forty-days road from Darfour (Sudan) to Aswan (Egypt), Mahmoud is one of the last true Egyptian desert explorers.


A published author and discoverer of previously unexplored prehistoric sites, Mahmoud is our local lead tour guide, taking care of logistics and ensuring our comfort, as he shares his wisdom and intimate knowledge of this ancient terrain.
